so it’s gonna be a little while before I get back to NeverEnding Legacy (the next Cookie Clicker update and some other things take priority right now) but I’ve been watching some reviews of the alpha and I started kicking some ideas around
I feel like the current game ended up complex and confusing (even with tooltips everywhere and while still only having about a day of content in its current state) and is a bit too active and not enough idle for a browser game of that type. the way the resource system works is also random, unpredictable and hard to make fair and balanced; I’m sure some people would enjoy the game as it is if I just add more content, but some rethinking of the base mechanics might also make it enjoyable to more people
would you guys just want to see the game continue using its current system, getting new features and techs, or should I go back to the drawing board for a bit and revamp some of the core gameplay ? I’m aware this would be the 3rd time I’ve designed the dang Legacy game, but I could reuse most of the code and assets from the current version this time around. what do y’all gooflets think ?
I think at least the way resources are consumed needs to be more akin to X units/second rather than the way it works now. It’s really hard to judge how much and why a resource was just consumed.
